“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”-Matthew 5:16

At last, we were able to held election of the officers for Bagbag Alliance for Good Governance and Change. After the local election last year, frustrated in the results- the members of different organizations in Bagbag, Novaliches united and established an alliance that will represent the urban poor and the oppresed in our society. After almost three months of planning, only yesterday, this was accomplished: six positions were filled- I as Secretary General.

The vision of the alliance, which is to train competent leaders that will serve God by serving people through good governance is too challenging, especially in terms of achieving great expectations by people behind our leadership. I believe that volunteer-leaders who are working hard for the alliance to push through are determined to derive political change. However, the task in making our vision is possible only if people we are serving will be cooperative and supportive in achieving our goals.

Thank you because we are able to establish Bagbag Alliance for Good Governance and Change in Novaliches, Quezon City. As its name implies, we aim to have change in our community by having leaders equipped with competency and good governance principle. Let our newly elected officials shine, Oh Lord. Give them wisdom, good health, courage and strength so that they may serve You and Your people at their best during their terms.

All these I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
