Wisdom About Work

“God has also given us different gifts to use. If we can prophesy, we should do it according to the amount of faith we have. If we can serve others, we should serve. If we can teach, we should teach. If we can encourage others, we should encourage them. If we can give, we should be generous. If we are leaders, we should do our best. If we are good to others, we should do it cheerfully.”Romans 12:6-8

Today, it is sad to read in the newspapers government officials who were allegedly involved in graft and corruption; many smart men and women who have chosen to use their skills and talents to serve their vested interests; those rich and powerful who oppress the poor and the powerless; those who kill others- witnesses to crime- just to protect themselves against the rule of law.

Your law is clear- we as Your servants must use our work to serve you and Your people. Whatever we have is a gift from you and whatever we choose to become is our gift to You in return.

I pray that You may use me today according to Your plans. May my work assigned to me serve others as I serve You. Let all Your will be done. All these I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
